No. A move facilitator’s main purpose is to document damage(s) as a result of moves and deliveries. However, should you require assistance for your move, we recommend Elephant Moving to all our clients. Not only are they one of the highest rated moving companies in Calgary, they are also familiar with condominium rules and are specially trained in damage precautions. This move facilitation program has been designed to minimize damage in the common areas, as well as to help with accountability when damage is done so that other tenants in the building are not penalized through condominium fees and the like for repairs. This price includes a video taped pre-walk through, elevator locking and preparations (if required), organization of move schedules, signage for moves in progress, Post-walk through to monitor for new damage and administration/office fees.
Unfortunately, we are bound by the number of facilitators we have on duty, as well as by how full our move schedule is. If you must move on a day that is not available, we ask that you contact your Property Manager as they may have an outside solution for you.
Due to our need to have a facilitator present at the beginning of each move, and with a fixed number of facilitators, we can run out of available time windows for moves. Availability tends to lessen during the beginning and end of each month, so please try to book your move as soon as possible to ensure you can get your desired date and time.
The facilitator will not remain on site for the entire duration of the move. They will arrive to perform a video recorded pre-walk through and to lock off the elevator if needed. They will then return at the end of your move to perform the post walk through and to unlock the elevator.
You will receive a phone call at least one hour prior to the start time of your move, and while we do highly recommend that you be present for the pre-walk through, it isn’t mandatory as we will refer to our video recordings should there be any issues.
If you are unable to provide us with an exact time window for your move, then we ask that you book the earliest slot available on your desired date. Due to the reasons explained in the question above, we are unable to accommodate last minute move bookings.
Credit card payment is required, however PayPal does offer additional payment options form time to time that work with our booking system as well.
Your damage deposit will be returned within 1-3 business day provided there has been no damage and that the move ended on time. This refund may take time to show back up on your credit card, but that length of time depends solely on your banking institution. Note: This may not be applicable to your building.
Should damage occur during your move, you entire $250 deposit will be handed over to your Property Manager and they will allocate the funds as needed. Note: This may not be applicable to your building.
There is a charge of $70 for each hour taken to move outside of your booked time limit. A monetary penalty will be applied to your damage deposit beginning at 15 minutes over time. This fee helps us pay for additional man hours required, and is also used to help minimize the amount of time the elevator is in service for. Note: This may not be applicable to your building.
